Placement Solutions contributed in the reduction of out of state placements of youth in RI from 150 in 2008 to 68 in 2010.
Overview
Placement Solutions conducts on-site consultation for all children and youth who live in residential and community-based settings funded by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). The purpose of the consultation is to determine if the current out-of-home placement meets the current treatment needs of a child or youth and his or her family. In addition, the process helps to facilitate the child/youth's movement toward the least restrictive level of care and ultimately closer to a safe, permanent home.
