Since 1996 CFP has finalized over 200 adoptions.
The Families for Children Program is an adoption and foster care service that places high-risk children who have experienced multiple disruptions in their lives in safe, stable, and loving homes. The program's staff provides a full range of case management services including individual and family casework, group work with children and families, and community organization. The Families for Children staff conducts a comprehensive assessment of the strengths and requirements of each potential home and child. Staff members work with families and children to prepare them for their new lives together. The program provides financial, clinical, and on-call crisis support. Families for Children also offers quarterly pre-service training for prospective foster and adoptive parents. A eight-ten week Model Approach Partnership for Parenting(MAPP)course is held at CFP's Providence office and is free of charge. There is no obligation to proceed with the adoption or foster care process beyond the course.
